The mission of the Alabama State Defense Force covers a range of different functions. They are covered however under three broad
categories:
PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA
This is accomplished by working with Alabama Emergency Management Agency in times of crisis and disaster
SUPPORT OF THE ALABAMA NATIONAL GUARD
This is accomplished by providing family assistance, conducting military funerals, mobilization assistance, military instructors and acting
as public information officers
ALABAMA STATE MILITARY FORCE
The State Defense Force is Alabama's primary military force to conduct National Guard domestic missions in the event of partial or
full mobilization of the Alabama National Guard
